Material removal and dewatering is a practical way to extend the service life of industrial impoundments and retention ponds.

Miller Environmental Services, Inc. provides dredging services and large volume dewatering with a reliable system that can deliver substantial cost savings compared to filter press or centrifuge technologies.

Filter Bag System

The heart of the system is a dewatering filter bag made of high-strength geotextile designed to retain fine grain sludge, hazardous contaminated soils and mixed waste materials. The empty bags are staged inside a bermed and lined containment area. Sediments are dredged from the impoundment and blended with a polymer before being pumped into the filter bags. Once inside the bags the material immediately begins to dewater via outward pressure and gravity. Decant water is returned to the surface impoundment. Once dewatering is complete the bags are opened and the material is transported to an approved waste management facility.

Miller's equipment inventory includes:
• Stainless Steel Dredges
• Carbon Steel Dredges
• Remote Controlled Dredges
• Hydraulic Power Units

Our dredging team understands environmental regulations and compliance with permit conditions. They are accustomed to working with regulatory agencies as necessary during the planning and implementation of the dredging process.

Miller also understands the importance of meeting schedules in removing material from impoundments that are part of an operating industrial facility. Miller develops a site specific safety plan for each hazardous and non-hazardous material management project.
